This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

About Sula Chance
Sula was born in Trinidad in the West Indies of Indian descent and came to England in the 1960s to nurse. She has had a lifelong interest in painting and having brought up a family and retired from nursing, she is now pursuing new aims in art. Sulas paintings show the life of the Caribbean, in representations of the colours, rhythms and warmth of the regions culture and landscape. The subjects of her recent work include the seascapes of the Caribbean coast, the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest, and the exuberance of Carnival. Sulas aim is to achieve an immediate connection with the observer, and she paints in a nave style as the best replication of the wonder of childhoods first impressions of colours and...
