Artist's Description
Microgeneration power technology. Small-scale wind turbine, solar panels (arrays of photovoltaic cells) and solar heat collectors (centre of top row) on the roof of a building. The wind turbine generates electricity from the power of the wind. The solar panels generate electricity by harnessing the energy in sunlight. The solar heat collectors use the energy in sunlight in a different way, to directly heat water which is then used to heat the building or used as hot water. Photographed in Hamburg, Germany.
