The artwork is beautiful. I think it would be excellent on a canvas. I have been considering a second order. I am in awe of the artist.

How can I begin to even tell you about my sister Cindy's dog, "Sadie" my girl...she followed Cindy everywhere she went and never missed a step. She passed away this past summer and my sister is still mourning. Who wouldn't when you have a dog for somewhere between 18-20 years. She was so old that our family cannot even remember just how old she was! Blind and hard of hearing, she could still follow Cindy.
We all miss her, especially my sister and her husband Rod. We'll see you in heaven...Sadie, My Girl.

As a child you could often find me quietly "painting by numbers" in my room. More often than not, my paintings were not exactly like those pictured on the box because I loved to change the numbers/colors around. Although I won awards for my artwork in elementary school I never really believed in my heart I was a real artist. I thought that "real artists" could draw anything from memory, and that was a gift I did not have. When reaching the upper grades we had to choose among our electives. Music...Art...or Dance Team? Although it broke my heart, I chose music and dance. You see, those areas received much more attention, and as an insecure young teenager that was one thing I strongly desired! However, deep...

Bruce Combs - REACH BEYOND
Hi, Laura! I hopeb maybe I've finally learned not to move away from a COMMENT to recheck a painting while in Progress writing on another one on FINE ART AMERICA! Anyway, so I just lost what I thought was really right on about Sadie and your "pooches" by doing that. Do you ever lose something and feel like you can never do it as well as before? (must be conceit!) And I won't remember some of the things I said, and so forth! And really it is the foolishness in losing it that bothers my slippery mind the most, I think. Anyway, I had tried to write something about Sadie and how she strikes me. To me she seems both more forceful as well as wishful, and really communicates it, even more than others. I think that me be me a lot. AND your moving into more impressionist techniques -- which of course you know is my own favorite stimulous (in paintings!). Well, the subtle and merging background makes a very special warm and friendly light around her, and then, the drawing of her and the colors especially more blending create more a feeling of living and liveliness, I think, feel, anyway. Whoops. I hadn't yet read your beautiful and sensitive DESCRIPTION. Hmmm! I'm trying to get over a bit of shock, AND I think that what I said still fits, and compliments even more -- the "life" I perceived in her. I think that is a tremendous coumpliment, if a bit unusual circumstances. How wonderful that you could make this precious solid mermory for Cindy and Rod, and for other Sadie lovers. But, I think most especially for yourself: to be able to make such a wonderful monument. Your stories always are very moving in their various appropriate directions, Laura. This one might be tops. Peace, etc., Bruce
