This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Artist's Description
Dramatic battle between sailing ships on the ocean. In this painting there is an obvious conflict between ships of the high seas. Ist early morning and the seas are calm. The clouds, fog and smoke make it dificult to see only the top mast and flags of the fourth ship in the battle scene. The nearest ship in the scene is tilting slightly to the left because of the recoil of a broadside. Smoke from that broadside can be seen projecting out over the water. The ship in the middle is shooting in both directions and caught between its two opponents. The ship in the far background is coming to join the fight. Dark shadows are cast upon the ocean waves by the huge ships to help dramatize the scene. A sailors life is a dangerous one for sure.
About Lee Piper
I have been an oil painter my entire life. Many of the paintings that I do are sentimental rural settings. I also like to paint landmarks and paintings that tell a story like "Surprise Visit". My paintings have won first place in a lot of competitions and many times have been sold that way. To me there is no more satisfying experience than to complete a painting and be happy with the outcome. The next best thing is to have someone buy it! I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings and I welcome your comments. I will personalize a print once you have kept it for the duration of the 30 days. You must pay the shipping to and from me.
