New version photographed with my Sony NEX 7! Much better now. I've been starring at this Mountain for the last 12 years outside my studio front door (I live on the other side) and I promised myself I would make it the subject of some paintings etc. So, here is the first in what will probably be a long line of Mt. Coolum paintings. This view is looking north just off the David Low Way at the beginning of a hiking trail. I painted it with a wraparound effect Finished it in February 2006. I also exhibited this painting at the Maleny Art Exhibition 2007.

I presently reside in Yaroomba near the town of Coolum Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. I have been consistently producing art work for a good portion of my life. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an Art Education Certificate from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, but since 1996 I live and work in Australia . My artistic influences are pretty eclectic. I am thoroughly steeped in the history of western art from ancient to modern and I have explored thoroughly the art of Islam, ancient Greek, Roman, Sumerian and Egyptian art as well.
