Great composition Kym! i am quite a good water skier (but could only manage it on one ski!) I have never had a go on snow even though we had plenty of it over winter and i have always wondered if the same principles apply? regards Graeme vf

Kym Backland replied:

Graeme, Hey thanks for coming by today! I don't think it's the same! I eman they both take strength and you have to like the speed! But, you know how it is, just because you surf, doesn't mean you can snowboard.. Anyways thanks for telling me about your water- skiing ventures.. and your squirrels, and such.. Artist's Description

It was a beautiful day skiing in the Pacific Northwest, Washington State... Oh look how pretty Mount Rainier is! Sunshine to boot! Tuesday is two for one ski day! Only 65 bucks for two people. Not sure how much it will be this year! Mount Rainier is the highest mountain in Washington and the Cascade Range.[4] Mount Rainier has a topographic prominence of 13,211 ft (4,027 m), greater than K2 at 13,189 ft (4,020 m).On clear days it dominates the southeastern horizon in most of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area to such an extent that locals sometimes refer to it simply as "the Mountain." On days of exceptional clarity, it can also be seen from as far away as Portland, Oregon and Victoria, British Columbia. With 26 major glaciers and 36 sq mi (93 km2) of permanent snowfields and glaciers, Mount Rainier is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states. The summit is topped by two volcanic craters, each more than 1,000 ft (300 m) in diameter with the larger east crater overlapping...

About Kym Backland

Kym Backland

Capturing a moment in time, is one of the best emotions. I love seeing something thru the lens and holding it near you as long as you can. I like for that image to be caught by surprise. A pure emotion. That to me is usually the most interesting. Anyways.... Photography is my medium. I do enjoy photographing those "Funny Animals" I see along the way........Laughter gets you thru a lot of hard times...I appreciate you taking the time to see what I see..... As you might have noticed I have never written a biography about myself for over 2 years. I figured I had better write one now. I'm definitely not going to write my "BIO" in the third person, so that I sound more important than I really am. Should I warn you that I have "run on"...
