I love the painting, and fabric! I’ve always had Border Collies, so they are perfect for me! The insert stuffing is a little lumpy. But i am very satisfied.
The Nancy Brown Carillon Peace Tower on Belle Isle viewed from the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and the Henry A. Johnson Memorial Gardens. The name Nancy Brown was created to create a mystery around her idenity, her birth name Annie Louise Brown, born in Maine 12-11-1870. She wrote a popular column for the Detroit News that included subjects from religion, love the arts and an array of life decisions. The tower designed by Architect Clarence E. Day was opened in 1940 and stands 80 feet tall. On July 4, 1940 tens of thousands attended the first concert at the site. The opening sond "The Star-Spangled Banner" followed up with songs such as �The Battle Hymn of the Republic�, �The Old Rugged Cross.� and "When Day is Done".
In 1970 the tower was vandalized destroying the stained glass, later the music mechanism was ruined by pigeons, that was later restored with a new musical system. Today the chimes can still be heard but sadly few are there to h...
