Many times I had driven past and through downtown Napa, mostly during the middle of the day and I told myself that I would really like to photograph the area. In order for me to do this properly I need to work alone or with other photographers, not my wife and not after wine tasting.
I went out early in the morning and arrived just after sunrise. This building caught my eye.
The Napa Mill has been around since 1884. Founded by Captain Albert Hatt the building is now a historic landmark.
I really like how the building stands tall in comparison to all the other buildings in the area. The atmosphere surrounding the building is very artistic with the Napa River on one side, Downtown Napa on the other and a residential area on another.
Arriving early in the morning allowed me to walk around relatively undisturbed.
