Newton on telescopes. 18th-century diagrams showing the design of a telescope. Newton designed and completed the first known fully-functioning reflecting telescope in 1668. This page is from 'Opera' (1779-85), the collected works of English physicist and mathematician Isaac Newton (1642-1727).
