Bought this for a friend who loves the beach (like me). She'll enjoy it.

I studied at the University of Iowa's School of Art, where I majored in Photography and minored in two other mediums: Painting and Serigraphy. The landscape is a favored subject in my photography, paintings and drawings; while birds are a favorite subject in my serigraphy and drawings. The photographic landscape is treated in large and medium formats. In painting I prefer a plein air approach and these works are smaller in scale. My work in serigraphy plays upon a more graphic approach of shape, color and line. Thank you Liz. I really liked your Harris Sparrow as well, they are just returning now from the north country (your neck of the woods) and are enjoying the raspberry patches here at the farmstead (maybe eating bugs and berries).

Thank you for the comments, sorry to take so long getting back to you. This piece (the original) is in the permanent collection of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, WI, and was a favorite of mine. I do color pencil fairly often in the winter but am usually too busy during spring, summer and fall months to stay in the studio enough. I do have some more color pencils on my blog...you may have to page back a little. It's at http://prairiepainter.blogspot.com

I absolutely love this. This is the level of color pencil I can dream of and aspire to. Can we see more?
