icy-hot colors from one polar to the other infused to make a positive neutral balance that's what i derived from this one.....5 stars!!! .....because i like figurative art the most i feel u should have won first place.....but in most cases landscapes is trump card.... i know better now.

Artist's Description

My study of rim lighting a 3D computer model. Four spotlights were used - two from behind the figure and two from below. A single rim light is often used to delineate the contours of a subject, with main and fill lights added to show texture and detail - and to simulate sunlight. Here, I'm exploring ways to use rim lights alone. Thanks for viewing :o) _jim coe

Jim Coe

Jim has always been fascinated by light and color and studied them extensively. He received his BFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, where he later taught. Jim minored in printmaking, experimented with visual perception, used Ansel Adam's "Zone System" and visited top photographers. He completed a 10 day intensive workshop with Minor White. Jim helped invent "Light Shows" and invented laser and other light effects. Pioneering in computing, he built his first PC in 1976, based on the same design Bill Gates used for his first a few months earlier.
