This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Untouched history! Wonder what tales this truck could tell...great shot!
Robin Lewis replied:
Thank you! I actually had to do a bit of research on it after I took the pictures. It used to belong to the Muscatatuck State Hospital in Indiana which, at the time, was a working farm/living residence for "feeble minded" youths (a boys home for those with mental disabilities). There were 576 acres of land set aside for helping these boys learn to function in society. They each had jobs on the farm and went to school and were allowed to fish and hike on the property in their free time. And although mental health care was still pretty medieval at the time, it seemed that this hospital was pretty progressive in their thinking. In my research I also found a picture of Santa Claus waving from the back of this fire truck in the 1950s! See http://idealab.tech.purdue.edu/muscatatuck/mg/misc/view.html
