About Leisa Temple
The crest of a neck. The extension of a foreleg. The flick of a tail. Leisa Temple is a horsewoman whose equine portraits bring to life the majesty and spirit of the equine form. From the thudding of hooves at a racetrack to a gentle nose muzzle between a mare and her foal, her work captures those singular moments with power and pathos. Born and raised in Toronto, Leisa is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Sheridan College. She has been involved with horses all her life, first with hunters on the show circuit for a decade and later with three-day eventing. In the 1980s, Leisa moved to Miami to study and paint horses at the prestigious Hialeah Park and Gulfstream Park racetracks. She soon developed a flourishing business,...
