Thanks J! I replied a few days ago but I guess it just didn't stick.

I really love this one! In our area of KY, USA we call the trumpet flower - creeper vine. they grow wild in fence rows and many farmers spray to kill them because it will eventually destroy a heavy duty wire fence. I love the trumpet vine just as I love the dandelion that everyone wants to kill off. HAVE A GREAT DAY

Thanks Angel! The comment thing seems to be working tonight. Orange Trumpet Flowers is one of my favorite still lifes.

Artist's Description

Orange Trumpet Flowers is a colorful, textural, flower study. I am especially pleased with the flowing motion in this painting. The surface is elevated and the brushwork is energetic. I wasn't always fascinated by still lifes. When I was young I was not the least bit interested in drawing or painting objects. I could not see how anyone could call a collection of things "life". Now I understand that inanimate objects can be just there or they can be an intense visual experience. It is all up to the artist. When I taught at Radford University I would often say to students that a good artist can make a trash can look good. One time a student went outside and made a great pastel drawing of a trash can! It was no longer a trash can but a work of art! The student understood what I was talking about. PLEASE PRESS THE PINTEREST BUTTON AT THE TOP! THANK YOU!
