When I came to the west coast of Florida in the late '80's, I was surprised to see flocks of parakeets and and Quaker parrots living in the wild. Digitally hand-painted in the style of ultra- realism. Copyright Matthew Schwartz 2010 Information about the artist, this image, and its creation: I am an old-school painter with several years of traditional experience. In recent years I (and many other artists), have developed their talent by using software to create digital art that is unique. The picture that is presented here, never existed in real life as a photograph captured by the lens of a camera. This image started with a composite of photos and digitally hand-painted images that were first layered in Photoshop. The final outcome is a unique image entirely. If you enlarge the image sufficiently, you will observe brush stokes and colors that were not produced by any camera or by a paint brush. In the late 1950's, I started my formal training in traditional oil techniques. I was eight years old. To this day, I owe my appreciation to my mother, who has since passed away. Through considerable personal sacrifice, she nurtured my artistic talent and provided me with the tools and circumstances to begin my creative journey - the journey that I am still on. I cherish the memories of the art exhibits and museums that we visited in Manhattan. I later attended The School of Visual Arts in New York City (1970-71). During the 70's up until the late 80's, I exhibited acrylic and oils in Montreal and New York. Presently, I reside in Florida with my loving wife, who I've been married to for thirty years.
