Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

Perfect! I wish that you'd included a translation of the two inscriptions in some ancient language that are above the shoulders of St John Coltrane. It would cost your company virtually nothing to supply this with the picture.
Artist's Description
Pawn Shop is an international traveler, on tee shirts, chess magazines, posters, even coffee mugs. This is the most published and famous of my chess cartoons, done in part because my brother Larry Christiansen is a 3 time US Chess Champion, professional Grandmaster player, and there is color printmaking series of foam board plate monoprints using this image, one at the Boyleston Chess Club in Cambridge, MA where Larry now lives. I usually do my inks without pencil reference as takes too long and I got tired of erasing out line work. I found it helped my cartooning to do it in ink and white out.
About James Christiansen
Jim Christiansen is an award winning artist working out of Modesto, California. Originally from Riverside California, Jim has been a published cartoonist, illustrator, painter and freelance flake dabbling in other media. An award winner in watercolors, Jim has participated in numerous group and solo shows over past forty years. Solo shows include the University of California, Riverside Alumni Center, California Institute of Mental Health. A part of Stanislaus County Artist Open Studio, Jim has been featured regionally at Watts/Upstream Wines, Mistlin Gallery, Chartreuse Muse, Lodi City Hall Art Walk and California Institute of Mental Health and shown at Gallery Red, Las Vegas and show at the Degas Gallery in New Orleans. Thank to the fan of this Chess Cartoon who ordered a print of it today. I currently have the original on display in my solo show at University of California Riverside Alumni and Visitor Center in the Goldware Family LIbrary thru May 6, 2011. My brother began his chess journalist career at UCR, and I added it to my resume as an artist and cartoonist as the older artist brother.
