I hiked "The Wave" on a beautiful, sunny day. It was a strenuous 3 mile hike in sand and sandstone. Number of tourists is limited by BLM permit to protect the fragile rock formations.

This photograph shows the beauty of the striated rock formations in this remote desert location. The orange and tan colors are all nature's beautiful artwork. They change as the sun moves across the horizon. The striated patterns in the rocks were created thousands of years ago by erosion caused by wind and water.

Marcia looks at things from a different perspective � her photos are usually still life or photos of objects that she finds interesting or unique.
