Nicely done!!! V

thanks jennifer

Verynice.

Thanks Charlie, I think the lady was a model from the turn of the centry.

Charles, I think Philip put it best, "Quirky". This photo is somehow familiar and yet mildly disturbing like a vaguely remembered wierd dream. This woman's expression is direct and somewhat amused as she aims this bulky camera at... us! She is seated in the bottom of this canoe in what can only be described as an odd position and sort of leaning forward and to the right... quite awkwardly. And there is noone else in the craft to propel or steer it. The site appears swampy and the water slicked with a seemingly oily and viscous substance out of which extend the claws of crabs or roots of some kind. Your treatment of the photo with a hand-painted effect evokes memories of the old studio colorists but the pallet is oddly, eerily pink and green and yellow. I think this creepiness to be discovered in the familiar is exactly what you wanted to present . And you have done it expertly. V

Thanks you Ann and Kathy. chas

Charles, This is Great, I have played around with some mixed media too it is not easy to get it right.. You Captured the moment perfectly. I love the colors Voted

This is awesome, Charles! I often have difficulty with mixed media pieces because elements that look like they should be organic to the picture look dropped in, and vice-versa ... not so here! You've done a very good job, and the post-assemblage treatment adds just the right touch!

this is to cool......v

Check Out My Amazon Store The Washington Post Sunday October 28th 2012 When Asked by Reporter: Shoup’s Reply People ask me about the colors I use in my artwork. Colors are very subjective and personal. Therefore I first consider my personal associations with the color, say in my dreams. Does the color remind me of a particular person, a childhood toy, some object, etc? For example, the color yellow may remind me of a school bus I rode in, but for someone else it may remind them of the yellow house they grew up in. Color in a dream can also convey emotions. Color plays a vitally important role in the world in which we live. Color can sway thinking change actions, and cause reactions. It can irritate or soothe your eyes,...
