Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

This idyllic scene was captured first on my camera while driving over a small one lane bridge near my home in the Poconos - the beautiful Pocono Mt region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The creek was very shallow, leaves were blown up along its bank. Evergreen trees provided a touch of greenery after all else was gold and orange.
The oil painting is done on profile stretched canvas with the sides painted in a yellow ochre/golden hue to compliment the colors seen in the central part of the sky. This painting would a wonderful addition to any room in your home or office. The small size lends itself to fitting in many wonderful spots in your decor. The subjects favored by Nancy Craig are skies and trees and you will find both in many of her works. Her colors are sometimes monochromatic, sometimes vivid and bold and once in a while soft and pale. She has much admiration for Helen VanWyk even while knowing that her style might never be to paint her way - the Artist has still learned much by studying and watching her and reading her books. In her earlier years Nancy only seemed able to paint in total realism but now that is tempered with hints of impressionism. Her medium is always Oil - to her Oil is the very essence of painting. Nancy Craig loves the texture, the feel and luster of the paint and enjoys experimenting with it constantly as she applies it to canvas. Different brush...
