This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

About ITI Ion Vincent Danu
I am a Canadian visual artist, born in Sibiu, Transylvania, Romania. I loved to draw as an infant and between 14 and 18 I was an "apprentice artist" at the Art High School in Sibiu. Then life took over and for about 20 + years art was just an occasional delight... I've returned to my first love, drawing, painting, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, were I've immigrated with my family in the nineties. Since 2003, I'm a full-time professional artist... I paint mostly in watercolor and acrylics but I cannot stop myself experimenting with all kinds of other themes, materials and styles (The art dealers say this is not good but what the heck!?) I've learned to take pictures since I was 11-12 years old and a camera is always somewhere near. I use...

Well, anything that you can do to help yourself to be in a positive frame of mind during such adversity. Personally, I think that your creative strengths must parallel your constitution in other areas of your life. You seem to upbeat for anything else to be true... and thank goodness for that. I spent much time being frustrated in not being commercially viable. Then I realized that being commercially viable doesn't mean diddly squat to me in the first place. When talented and likeminded individuals such as yourself offer support, I know that it is still worthwhile. Keep on creating my friend. There are many of us who will tell you that it matters!

Don't I know that well, my friend! I try to use it, the art therapy - maybe not enough, for the moment - as a part of my anti-cancer therapy, with diet and meditation and some supplements...:) I'm frustrated too, looking at what sells and knowing, as you no doubt know too, that it's not true originality or creative art that's selling...I made more making street portraits in a day than in 3-4 years on FAAM...But it's a nice way to show you work and yes, even meet like minded true, original artists...

I know the feeling well my friend. My work does not seem to match the curtains in anybodies house... so I am not selling much either. Perhaps we need new perspective? Maybe if we could collaborate on a still life of a fruit basket... or maybe a pair of doe eyed puppies in a basket of laundry... maybe then we could turn this thing around eh? lol. Never lose heart my friend. Creativity is therapy.

Glad you like it, John. I try to sell it for peanuts here and nobody seems to want it...it was in a charity auction and stayed unsold...Probably not joyous enough, too somber...:)
