Artist's Description
Our trip to Kolob Canyon yielded an abundance of photos and this was one of my favorite small scenes. The prickly pear was being corralled by dead wood on three sides.
About Inger Hutton
When I was about 10 years and my brother in law was working on a silk screen of a hand holding a deck of cards. To my surprise he said the hand would be the easiest part. He was following the outer contour of the hand while even then I was seeing the fingerprints, wrinkles and creases. Today more than 50 years later that is still my focus. In the forest, I am the one who is likely to find the delicate mushroom tucked under the log we just stepped over. The beauty in the fine detail of nature is still the focus of my art and I love to reflect that beauty in my art.
