Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Fits my phone perfectly and looks fantastic.
This is part of a series of 26 postcard-size bird paintings I did a few years ago. One of my field guides describes purple finches as looking like "sparrows dipped in raspberry juice". which I think is about right!
I have enjoyed drawing since childhood, and have been painting in watercolour since 2002. I really enjoy the transparency of watercolour, and like to experiment with combining watercolour with other media. In the past few years, I have also been working in pastel, and mixed media. In whatever I do, my desire is point others to the beauty and wonder that our Creator has given us to enjoy, that they may come to see His beauty and stand in awe of Him!

This bird is really nice, good work!

Thanks to both of you, Stephen and Carole! I think the dry-brushing helped with the efeect of fluffy feathers.

Love the color of this Finch you've painted, soft and delicate. Thanks for comment on my painting called "Venus of the Pink Rose ".
Carole Spandau
Lynn, you are SO talented. You really capured the softness and fluffy quality of his feathers so professionally. I love your palette here. Watercolor is a difficult medium to work in and you have mastered it. Thanks for comments on The Chateau Frontenac. Its in Quebec City and can be viewed from practically everywhere, in that town. I painted it in 1978, but might do a new version, as like you I love to work in series. Have a great weekend, your Canadian pal, Carole
