This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!
Artist's Description
I camped about 11 miles away from Bulls Island in a KOA campground. Wish I could recommend it but won't. After setting camp and having supper then enjoying a campfire I went to bed and awoke at 3 AM to drive to the launch site. Almost an hour later 30 or more photographers boarded the ferry which took us to a drop off site where we then hoisted ourselves onto trailers which then towed us to the beach. We were there an hour before sunrise and had plenty of time to search out a good spot. Bulls island is part of the Cape Romaine National Wildlife Refuge. No one is allowed to camp overnight on the island thus sunrise is kind of a rare event for many. These sunrise photography expeditions are timed to coincide with low tide. When digital came along it was an easy move to software and all the possibilities that were and are now possible with their use. Still the initial composition in camera is paramount and once the shutter is closed and image transferred to computer, I can turn my imagination loose and enhance or create...

There is a stark beauty in this great art-photo, but I also see a devastated Earth, perhaps a hundred years in the future where nothing can live or grow anymore. . .
Jim Cook replied:
Thank you Hartmut, others have remarked similarly saying it's apocalyptic.
