The ring is a remnant of a World War II gun emplacement - a reminder
of a different time. This is a second version of an earlier photograph
of this ring and sunset �Remnant�, which I shot in November
2007. This was in August after a couple days of high clouds
and thunder showers. The late afternoon sky showed
potential for a nice sunset, so I packed up and
ran out to this spot and waited and watched
as the sun broke through the clouds
and lit up the sky.
