Beautiful composition. Love the contrast between the straight lines of the lighthouse and the soft painterly feel of Mount Rainier behind.

Anne Norskog replied:

Thank you Marianne!

I like the clean style of your painting. This composition is pleasing to my eye.

Anne Norskog replied:

Thank you Linda!

Thank you Dan! The ferry ride over, the beautiful island and of course the lighthouse all make a trip to Point Robinson worth the effort. Getting the mountain as the backgroud--priceless!

Very nice depiction of Point Robinson! I hope to make it there some day for a clear sky sunrise, with Mount Rainier in the background!

Thank you so much for your kind words Irmgard! (^_^)

I love your lighthouses. They are so accurately painted and still so romantic! My vote.

Thanks Bill! Glad you like it! *_*

I like this one!

Hi Sandi. Thanks for your nice comments on my work. I am completely in awe of your big cats. You belong to a very select few who can paint them.

Another beauty - and the detail!! You even have the power lines in there!!

Hi Fabio. Thanks for the kind words of praise. :-D Your gallery is full of beautiful works.

Very fine! I like all.

Hi Kathy. Thanks for the kind words. This pretty little lighthouse is about a 45 minute car/ferry ride from our home. It is one of those jewels that quietly looks beautiful, doing its job. This painting is "Vintage" in that I have included some features that have since been removed in order to make way for more modern equipment.

Wow, You have some beautiful work too. I painted a light house, but not at pretty as yours. I love your work...

Artist's Description

Point Robinson is a ferry ride from either Seattle or Tacoma. It is on Maury Island which is actually a small peninsula of Vashon Island in the middle of Puget Sound. Mount Rainier is part of the majestic backdrop for this beautiful maritime guardian. One will note the near identical features of Point Robinson to Alki Point and Lime Kiln: all three lighthouses were built using the same plans with minor variations from site-to-site. This painting is period in its rendering. I chose to include the historical features including the foghorn and the chimney from the steam room. Old Glory has 48 stars on her as she flies high. Every piece of art in my gallery is original; not scanned; not a photograph. Using only the computer mouse, I draw every line, add every bit of shading, highlights, blending, and refining to finish a piece. All of the art is started in Microsoft Paintbrush. The finishing process is done using Photoshop Elements. Every piece is printed using only the finest...

Art is in the eye of the beholder. I will not write in the third person here. That sounds pretentious and, most of the time, inaccurate. Being in the last third of my life, it becomes clear good health is the finest gift possible. Again, nature provides the most beautiful inspirations. Walk into your own garden. Stroll a beach or a path in the woods. Watch the sun and clouds or a kitten playing with a piece of string. Pay attention to the faces you see...they each tell their own story. Create something wonderful that has a piece of your own heart on it. The emotions that drive us human beings also drive our art. The viewer is respectfully reminded my works are copyright protected. Please visit me often. Kindest...
