I bought this in the greeting card form. I have been purchasing cards from Fine Art America for two or three years. Covid might have been some of the reason for looking for cards on the internet. Shops were closed. The main reason I buy cards from FAA is because I got tired of looking for cards at the usual card shops. I could find cards (sometimes) that looked good on the outside but the verses were terrible or it was the other way around...terrible on the outside but maybe a decent verse inside. I pick cards from FAA that fit with the occasion. I figure I can write something on the inside as good as any card company could. I wouldn't buy these cards if I didn't think they were wonderful. The cards are beautiful and excellent quality and the envelopes are equality as good. I am glad I can make a copy of what I've bought so I can keep track of who gets what card. I don't want to send the same card to someone twice. In this case, the card is going to someone for Mother's Day.

As much as photography takes up much of my creative 'demarche', there has always been a twitch, inner-stirring, a necessity that does not explain itself, but only dissipates when I engage in the more dexterous creative media.
There is something very 'natural' about drawing and painting (or building, carving, et al)...Has it become part of that which flows through a human's veins? Is it so old that it is more than an activity or an attitude; dare we call it a 'necessity'? - I would not be alone [in this time or any other] to refer it so!
Exampled here is another means that has aided my quiet journey, quiet explore. To be sure, the activity of the craftsman of images is quiet; intimately hermetic, as of solitude. Where dialogue exists but not socially nor linguistically - the dialogue is seemingly 'Felt' rather than uttered. As is the 'imaginal' explore that you, as the viewer, embarks on: behind that heavy old door; or up the rustic walkway and to the left... where...'...

Nicole sends best wishes VIVA, as do I. Thank you for your compliment and we hope you are in good spirits. Personally, I am still in contemplative mode; the imperatives are shifting for the time being and I can only wonder how long it will be so and where I will wake from this brooding exile ...En tout cas

Alessandra RC
Very evocative.
Terrance DePietro replied:
Thank you Alessandra. It is my opinion that each artist produces one, or more, consequential images over the span of time; most often the number of 'evocative' works is quite high - but only if the artist has the attitude to support such, what I call, 'purposive ambiguity'; the implications of which go far beyond mere aesthetic concern... TY again. - tdp
Patricia Caron
Great drawing, love the details in the stone l/f
Terrance DePietro replied:
Thank you Patricia... Pointalism started to intrigue me in the mid-70s and I enjoyed it for several years before pushing into other venues of expression including the art of making my own paints, inks and mediums - which I much appreciate now, when the costs are so high. Best wishes, Terrance
Aline Halle-Gilbert
Whahhh , Quite a WORK OF ART !!!!
Terrance DePietro replied:
Thank you Aline, your work is quite wonderful also. Rue 1, goes way back to 1977 and much has happened since then; even living in Quebec City, on two separate occasions. I had Pigments Plus in the lower city in the early '90s; and that is where I met my wife - another Quebec artist; she lives here in NY now. Thank you for your kind words. Terrance
