Package was pretty beat up upon arrival. I can send a separate photo if you’d like to see it? 5 star on the actual picture. 1 star on shipping.

About Guido Borelli
By Debra Argen-Nesta dargennesta@earthlink.net 203-358-9701 Artist Guido Borelli da Caluso was born in 1952, in Caluso, Italy at the foothills of the Italian Alps. Born into an artistic family, (his grandfather was a woodcarver and furniture maker, and his paternal uncle and aunt paint) young Guido first discovered painting somewhere between the ages of 4 to 6 years old. With the encouragement of his family, Guido's first art challenge came at age 13 in the form of a public award. Although he did not win this art award, he continued to make artistic strides, and had his first personal art exhibit at the young age of 17. Up the street, Where the blue sign is, was the Gallerie des Gemeaux, where I spent my childhood during the 1954-1965 decade.... It is quite a moving experience to discover this awesome painting that depict the feel of the village. The Fundation Maeght was not there as yet.... The village was populated with the local artisans. Since then it has become the village for the rich and famous to be seen as if it was theirs alone.... It was such a sad pilgrimage in so many ways.... Everyone I knew was dead except for one person with whom I managed to speak about the great era where the writers , painters, cinema artist from the world over came and talked to everyone.... I recall some of them while I was very young.... Le restaurant de la Fontaine (bar sign) was one the hub where everyone was meeting to spend endless evening came to nights to rave on about art and everything ... My dad had kilometres of reel tapes where some of these meets.... We do not stop time, but it is with some nostalgia and a deep sense of loss and sadness difficult to share... Very little history has been recorded as a whole.... Everyone is busy to live their time and make a buck.... Only the Colombe d'Or has pinned on the walls the remains of those forgotten times..... I was somewhat privileged to be able to share my visits with some of my children and life partner .... Thank you Guido to have painted the wonderful painting... A real treat.
