Layers and layers of rusted rust on the bottom portion of this old hitch, a real relic I found laying on the ground. This antiquated hitch was out at the old Koloa Mill, so I collected it to take its place among my old relics. As it looks here, it's just some rusted metal. The image of the whole hitch is also posted.
Rust has a beauty all its own. Photographing a rusted object at just the right moment makes for some interesting, if not abstract photography.
The basic soil components of all these Hawaiian Islands is iron oxide. Our soil is red. It�s the same as rust.
