On a beautiful summer day in the sunshine, sailing can be a delightful relaxing experience. Sailing for pleasure, or recreational sailing, can consist of short trips across a bay, day sailing, coastal cruising, and more extended offshore or 'blue-water' cruising in refreshing ocean breezes. The many yacht clubs on the shores of North America's Great Lakes are testament to the popularity of this fascinating sport of skill and reaction to weather conditions. But beware - weather conditions can change within minutes on the Great Lakes!
