"Salt River Horseplay"oil painting on canvas by Karen Kennedy Chatham was painted from a reference photograph taken by incredible photographer Helmut Hussman, who kayaks the Salt River in Arizona to capture images of these wild Mustangs and bring them to us who love them so much. These three playful running horses have so much energy,they look like they could run off the canvas right into the room.
Southwestern Artist, Karen Kennedy Chatham, is a realistic and abstract painter of wild mustang horses, Texas longhorn cattle, western cowboys, Native American culture, landscapes and radiant florals. Her mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. Born a native Texan, Karen lives in Paradise, Tx has a deep love for western culture and her favorite subjects are the horses. Karen has recently been exploring new abstract/semi abstract techniques that are radiant in color, rich in Spirit, and full of positive emotion. *Student of James R.
