Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens - A study in Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow
After years of watching my art teacher, Shirley Wallace, paint with a pallet knife I decided to give it a go. But, of course, I couldn’t stop there, no, I had to try going with a huge size and with the added challenge of using only three colors along with white. I’d heard that you could mix all colors from Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow so I decided to test that theory.
JUST WHO DO I THINK I AM? A second generation Central CA coast-er, I was able to expand my horizons while living 16 years, in No. CA, OR, TX, and NM, with some playful jaunts to Alaska, Jamaica, and Europe. Wherever we traveled, art was always a part of our lives, from my husbands beautiful music (he plays a bajillion instruments) to just watching the play of light as it danced through the lives of the people, culture, and flora. After being so busy working on our land and in many other endeavors I'd drifted away from painting on a regular bases.
