the trees along Lake Santeetlah
are lush and colorful
in shades of gold, yellow,
red, and orange.
The lake is clear and calm,
protected in this spot
by the surrounding forest trees.
The dock stands out
over the water,
a great spot to fish
or just enjoy nature.
This is near the Smoky Mountain
town of Robbinsville
where the Cherohala Skyway
ends it's western journey.
Nearby are the Nantalaha
and the Cherokee National Forests.
