JITNY unloading vacationer cars here once ferried US Army troops and armored vehicles to beaches under assault in WW11. My USN duty some 25 years later was aboard LST 1126( Landing Ship Tank) transporting Marines to training exercises in peacetime Pacific. McCalls New Yorker cover hangs above my ship's plaque.

About Helga Schmitt
Helga Schmitt was born 1936 in Augsburg, Germany. As late as in 1998 the retired bookseller taught herself the technical knowhow and started the making of digital art, encouraged by her good relations to contemporary literature and fine art throughout her life. Most of her computerwork is based on photographs taken by herself when discovering fancy, strange or exceptional details in the neighborhood as well as on travels. Helga Schmitt about motivation and themes: "Asked, what message my artwork is supposed to bring over, I answer frankly: None. All I intend is to create images and if somewhere somebody likes them the way they are it will make me very happy. - Faced with the pure real landscape and architecture I'm interested not...
