Description
Drawn from an old photo of my nana, Carol, when she was about six years old. The hardest part of the whole piece was drawing the crayons. They were tricky, because they're small and I was drawing from an old photo 3 by 5 inches in size. I love that Crayola crayons still look basically the same all these years later!
I knew from the first moment I saw the photo that I wanted to draw it. Nana, you are still beautiful inside and out. Thank you for your support and love. I hope you know how important you are to me!

Sarah, while I, like most of your fellow artists, love your Colour Pencil Artwork, I wonder how many see the disciplined foundational work behind Colour? In serious art study, there were many required Types of drawing classes before turning to paint because realism and accuracy of things like scale, tone, perspective, reflection, shadow, etc. demanded knowledge OF them before one could release the essence of a thing. I think that is why the soul comes thru ALL of your work and I SEE and love your renderings ALL-MAGNIFICENT!- LF

Congrats on your win. Wonderful drawing of your Nana! I am two years younger than Nana so this looks very familiar to me. Drawing and coloring were always my favorite thing to do when I was young!

Always adore this one, a vintage feel, but much, much more going on. And the photo was so touching your heart, you were compelled to draw it! Your patience is incredible as you always capture the smallest details! jean
