The original photo was taken with a Nikon N90s SLR during the 1999 Race to the Sky sled dog race in Montana. Graphic augmentation is primarily to the background.

I've been a professional photographer since 1987 when I began capturing various equine events and rural activities on film. Traditional 35mm SLRs were my cameras of preference in the 1980s and 90s, but since 2002 I have embraced the digital era. Now I also create digital paintings and use graphic art techniques on many of my images. My photos have been used in many publications, including ORION Magazine, American Cowboy, Royal Wings (an international in-flight magazine), Bloodlines, and Pro Rodeo World (along with articles); some photos have been included as illustrations in several books. I've participated in juried art shows, including Lincoln Art in the Park (Lincoln, MT), Depot Festival of Art (Livingston, MT), Madison...
