Harvest is over and all that is left are the little green grapes found on the upper parts of the vines. They may ultimately ripen but there are too few of them to bother picking. Sometimes I will go through and pick enough to make jelly but even that is not worth it. Its not like strawberries where the homemade jam is so much better than store bought. Grape jelly tastes like grape jelly whether home made or store bought. I thought the colors were so beautiful this fall that I blurred the background leaves to form a dramatic contrast to the crisp outline of the cluster of grapes. If you look closely, you can see a bit of frost on the grapes and along the strands of spider web.

My passion is underwater and nature photography. I particularly like finding patterns and designs in nature and getting down to the very basics with super macro views. In my early years, I had extremely poor vision and, as a consequence, I would get very close to things in order to see them. I think this handicap influenced my technique as I tend to try and create brightly colored, closely cropped, in-your-face images that are easy to see. Revealing the beauty in the mundane is my goal. I live in the countryside of western Oregon and have no trouble finding frogs, birds, mushrooms and flowers to photograph.I travel to warm waters for underwater shots as often as possible.
