Artist's Description

I created "Springtime at Carnton" after visiting the famous Civil War hospital site in Franklin, TN. Carnton was the largest field hospital for the Confederacy and was made memorable by Robert Hicks in his well-known book, "The Widow of the South." The Chestnut Group of Nashville, TN, painted on the plantation for a few months in preparation for a benefit show and sale held July 14-17, 2011. My painting was selected for the design of the promotional pieces advertising the benefit show. A collector from Piscataway, NJ, purchased the original.
