St. Albans is the most elite preparatory (or "prep") school in the Washington, D.C., area, and was established on the grounds of the National Cathedral in 1909. The school is for boys in grades four through twelve (the National Cathedral School, also on the same grounds, is for girls in grades four through twelve, and the Beauvoir School is for children of both genders through the third grade). The alumni of the "Ivy League Prep School" includes Vice President Al Gore, and former senators Evan Bayh, Michael Bennet, Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., and Congressmen Jesse Jackson, Jr., Harold Ford, Jr., and many others who went on to governorships, to create or head Fortune 500 companies, or play in the NFL, as Jonathan Ogden did. St. Albans School is located on Massachusetts Avenue near the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Mass. You cannot miss it, just look for the looming towers of the National Cathedral.

I enjoy photography and writing, and sometimes think of myself as a photojournalist. If there is a story to be told with a photograph, I tell it. As a longtime resident of Washington, DC, a lot of my photographs are of this area, and I enjoy writing in the description something about the shot -- it could be a short statement about an equestrian statue in the middle of a park, or a more intimate tale of the mausoleum where Abraham Lincoln's son, Willie, was entombed for the remaining three years of Lincoln's presidency after the boy's death.
