Artist's Description
A new icon written to honor St Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American/First Nations saint to canonized by the RC Church. Done in the traditional Russian process of iconography in the Prosophon method. Kateri lived in upstate NY & Canada (1658- 1680) She was known for her care of the sick & elderly and her ascetical practices. Many cures are attributed to her intercession.
