Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Standing waves pattern on a drum skin. Sand was spread over the drum skin and the drum was then repeatedly hit (lower centre). The sand was displaced from areas of movement (antinodes) to areas where the drum skin remained still (nodes). These nodes and antinodes form standing waves and do not change position. They are caused by the repeated interference of waves with identical wavelengths, moving in opposite directions to each other. Constructive interference causes displacement, destructive interference does not.
