Artist's Description
The scriptures tell us to "Stay awake, for we know not the hour in which our Lord will return". This image is a reflection upon that theme and shows an angel of the Lord blowing his trumpet over a city. As is evidenced from the mostly dark windows, only a few are awake to welcome His return.
About Gary Wilson
C. Gary Wilson is a ceramic artist and college professor since 1971. His art focuses on Biblical related themes with a narrative and figurative style. Working out of his studio garage in Monroe, Michigan, Gary Wilson has been working as a professional artist since 1969. After receiving his B.F.A. from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and an M.F.A. from Michigan State University, Mr. Wilson has been teaching as an Associate Professor of Art at Monroe Community College since 1971 where his course load included Ceramics, Drawing, Art History, Art Appreciation and Creativity. With the help of his wife, Linda, Gary does occasional art festivals during the summer months and is also represented by galleries. He has a large Christmas...
