Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
Strawberry Daiquiri by Maggie Terlecki
People are often curious how a photo came about... and for me, it's not always the same. Sometimes I have an idea and I work it until I get what I want, and other times, like for this photo, I was just experimenting, trying to find something interesting to shoot. I'll explain.
Right now, where I live, in the province of Quebec, Canada, we are in the middle of winter. The weather is all over the place, some days we receive a lot of snow, and a day like today, well, plenty of freezing rain. No flowers in the garden, of I figured I'd play with some strawberries today and drop them in water.
As things go, they don't always work like you think.. so I start with a huge glass vase as I don't have a fish tank which would be fabulous. Unfortunately, having used the vase so many times for flowers, the water has etched horizontal lines which will not leave, no matter how hard I scrub.. so then I'm off to a smaller vase.. oh.. and...
About Maggie Terlecki
I'm a photographer from a small town in Quebec, Canada and I do mostly Still Life compositions and Urban Vignettes. I take pictures of things I feel a connection to, a way of sharing my feelings, my world, and my place in it. My approach to photography is essentially the same as how an author uses words to write a story. Hopefully, you’ll find my voice and vision within my work. I also do digital painting - mostly fantastical creatures like fairies.

Love this! Getting the right splash is so satisfying, and making fresh drinks to photograph is pretty much the best way to spend an evening I think 😉ðŸ‘😊ðŸ»
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Hi Monte. It was quite en endeavor to get this splash. I have a friend that does splash photography, that has a set up with timers and little tubes that drop a drop at a time and she gets amazing shots, This was so much more difficult, but you are right... once you get the shot! Oooh, feels good! :-) Maggie

Hi Susan. Well, it was just a process and once I figured out what I was doing wrong, it was just doing it correctly until one looked good. Thank you for your kind comment :-) Maggie

Great timing on this shot Maggie and I know these kinds of images are not easy to get. I'm very impressed. ;-) FV I will stick you in my back pocket next time I go down south to Scottsdale to the Butterfly Wonderland Conservatory. lol ;-) You would love it there. :-)
Maggie Terlecki replied:
once I got the idea, to use a martini glass for this image, things went well. Sure it took time but I was on a tripod, had continuous shooting mode, shutter release... it just took the time to get an interesting shot. I did make quite a mess too. As for being in your pocket to go the butterfly conservatory? Wouldn't that just be fantastic? I think so! :-) Maggie

Marvelous capture, Maggie! The sloshed liquid looks like it could be an stirrer made of ice! Fav'd, liked, and tweeted. Would FB but the images are not showing up at the moment.
Maggie Terlecki replied:
Thank you so much, CJ! Yes, the splash sort of looks like it could be out of ice, but I promise, it's a splash! :-) Maggie Thanks also for all the shout outs!
