When I paint children, I am always inspired by my own two children. The free spirit of children is something I truly admire as it has always fascinated me. My goal was for the aroma of the "Sunflower" to permeate throughout the painting. The little Native American is caught in her wonderland as she couldn't resist a smell of natures' perfume.

Gregory Perillo is one of today’s most respected and renowned American Western artists. His powerfully dramatic, emotional depictions of Native Americans and early settlers, as well as Western landscapes and wildlife, have made him one of America’s leading painters and sculptors.
