Awesome capture of a gorgeous cloud formation Mick! I missed this one! You've been busy since I last checked... Happy to see all your new images and now I get to see the car show in GP that I had missed! Thanks! v/f

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you Cindy! I almost expected to see someone with a camera at the car show that I might recognize... but alas I did not! LOL... This shot was taken near Ashland -- I had to get off the freeway when I saw it forming and capture it the best I could. As you well know, the REAL THING is always so much grander than we can capture in a little electronic machine with a piece of glass attached to the front of it!! :)

Beautiful capture Mick. Voted.

Mick Anderson replied:

Thank you for your kind words Bhvinder, and your visit/vote! So much appreciated :)

Great capture! voted!

Mick Anderson replied:

This photo gives me the impression of what skies might look like in your part of the world, England :) Thank you, Lana, for the nice comment!

Gorgeous shot, Mick! f/v

Mick Anderson replied:

See what you're missing by not coming to Oregon? :) This was shot on our way back from the Mount Shasta area -- we stopped when we saw the clouds and the sun interacting near Ashland. Thanks for the compliment, Heidi :)

BEAUTIFUL!

Mick Anderson replied:

Thanks Erica... another one of those "right place, right time" kind of shots :)

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Artist's Description

This sky is almost Biblical, and preceded a very heavy rainstorm a short time later. The location was just off I-5 near Ashland, Oregon.

About Mick Anderson

Mick Anderson

While in college, Mick had the opportunity to work at St. Mary Lodge at the east entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. It was in this magical place where he met several fellow students from other parts of the country who would change the direction of his life by introducing Mick to nature, the mountains, the guitar and singing, fly fishing, writing music, hiking, and -- most importantly -- the Single Lens Reflex camera! He had a chance to play with Pentacon, Yashica, Pentax, Nikon and other brands, leading cameras of the day. It opened up a whole new way of looking at the world, and started a hobby that quickly grew into a passion that has stood the test of many years. His first “real” camera was a Yashica “Electro-35”...
