We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?

I love this metal print. The picture is crisp and colors are clear. We live in the Detroit area and my husband used to sell vegetables at Ester Market when he was in college.
Artist's Description
I see red when I consider the deprivation my enslaved ancestors suffered and the residual effects we can see today. In these portraits I highlight the brilliant strength in these survivors of a shameful national past.
Racial discrimination, an enduring national phenomenon, is a continuing concern for me in my life and my life’s work. For four years I have also focused on a specific American injustice, slavery.
I seek neither revenge nor pity.
I want you to look at these victims in the light of their achievements despite the beatings, the starvation, the horrific working conditions, the loss of family, the denial of education and the inability to accumulate property and wealth.
These images of Survivor Spirits exist in the golden light of their glowing inner strength as beacons of hope and examples of endurance to us all. The progeny of African slaves can be proud to be the red-blooded proof that the slaves were able to survive against all attempts...

There is something immediately striking about this portrait. She has a defiant look about her, in that no matter what she and her family endured, her spirit remains unbroken. I particularly like the way you incorporate the cool pinks and warm oranges and reds in her face, which gives even more complexity to her character.
Jade Knights
Wonderful powerful portrait.
