About Peggy Detmers

Peggy Detmers

Peggy is a forth generation South Dakotan, with a lifelong love of nature which pushed her to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Management and General Biology. Her degree has given her a strong background in anatomy of both human and animal combined with valuable knowledge of animal behavior and natural history. Peggy feels that each of her subjects tells her which medium to use to portray what she has observed. She uses pencils, oil paints, acrylics, bronze and wood to create what she says, "must come out of me." Her drawings, paintings, sculpture, furniture and jewelry are all eagerly collected. She is represented by The Jon Crane Gallery at 256 Main Street, Hill City, SD, (605) 399 - 9459
