About Alex Cassels
First signs of an artistic calling appeared during family holidays on the North Norfolk coast in the 1970’s. This took off photographically after a summer holiday to the Costa Brava when I sold my first picture of the little fishing port of Port de la Selva to Catalan Villas. In the mid 1980’s I went on to study Photography, Film & Television at Plymouth College of Art and Design which introduced me to the wonderful world of animation. This new direction had initially been inspired through work experience at the Walt Disney Studios in Sydney while on a round the world trip. The next 10 to 15 years were spent in various animation studios in Cardiff, Manchester and London working largely on children’s TV productions and half hour...
