Artist's Description

Again, as in my photograph, La Pieta Miami, The Ascension was created as a reaction to the skewed perception we all have, taken from the great 16th century masters paintings of religious activities, of the scenery and people Jesus was amongst, was Tuscan or Milanese. The reason I shot this photograph here was because the infield ball field dirt reminded me of tuscan red, a very common color in 16th century painting. A photograph from this series was published in the Black Book of Photography, formerly the bible of great photographers worldwide.

He grew up til he was 17, went to a few deb parties, played some golf (the shoes hurt bad), took some drugs, and enjoyed hallucinogenics for a short period of time. Mind you, this was Ausley stuff, not aspirin, contac and dog food, which you gotta watch out for these days. Ummm, I am gonna switch to present tense and cut out the "he was once a frog in prince clothing" bs as if TS Eliot is writing this about me. I started snapping (pictures, that is) in 1968 and worked them up in a chemical darkroom. Lotsa tri x and bums and poly contrast papers and railroad stations and park benches and music and blues and...
