Located on the south coast of England, this 140 year-old iconic landmark is also a popular seaside destination.
This Victorian pier often filled in for the Brighton pier in cinema productions, such as Agatha Christie's Poirot episode "Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan" and the film Brighton Rock.
This is a favorite place of mine, often visited en route to the white clifffs of Beachy Head. Since this image was taken, a huge fire occurred and much of its dome was destroyed (we were in Switzerland when we heard about this; it shocked us as we had just seen it before we left England). The rebuild is still going on.
