Artist's Description

One of the greatest closing pitchers is going to retire from Major League Baseball this year, Mariano Rivera. He is the only player to wear #42 since retired for Robinson. "Mo" has more broken bat strikeouts than any other pitcher in the history of the game. He does it with one pitch and every player at every talent level - soon to be greats - cannot find a way to hit this pitch. You will probably not see an outing where his pitch does not destroy at least one bat, if not several. He will surely go down as one of baseball's pitching greats. He began his relief career as a set up man to John Wettland in 1995 and quickly assumed the role as the game's closer and has pitched for the New York Yankees his entire career. To remain with a single organization in the modern era is almost unheard of. He is also a humanitarian and gives much back to the community and to his home country of Panama.

About Elaine Duras

Elaine Duras

Enjoying life now in Northern KY, but born & raised just outside NYC, she often takes long drives with her camera photographing landscapes and unusual items for subjects. She adds her personal whimsical touch to each creation. Additionally, Elaine will find inspiration from old photographs from life on the east coast, travels abroad, and sometimes just out of the blue. She has...
